A celebration of outdoor painting with 25 top plein artists from Hawaii and the US Mainland. Betty Hay is the only female artist from the state of Hawaii. The event is coordinated by Islanders Hawaii Plein Air Painters, West Maui Cultural Council, and the Village Galleries Maui. "Waikiki Ti" Betty Hay's 24x30 original oil painting is used in the movie set. When George Clooney runs to his friend's home to seek the truth on his wife's indiscretations, the painting is on the left background wall.

"Here, There and Beyond,"a multimedia show with Betty Hay Freeland, Dewitt Jones and Joëlle C. Perz

Show runs: October 28 – December 7
Opening Reception: Saturday, October 30, 5pm

What do artists Betty Hay Freeland, Dewitt Jones and Joëlle C. Perz have in common? They all participated in a digital photography and computer imaging workshop on the island of Molokai, at the Hui Ho'olana, focusing on “Re-Kindling the Creative Spirit".

Betty Hay and Joëlle as students, and Dewitt as one of the teachers. It was there that each one of the artists pledged to take their work to an edge for an exciting show at Viewpoints Gallery.

Betty Hay had fun developing small canvases into more contemporary landscapes, as well as interpreting some of these scenes into her own style of representational painting. Her sensitivity and familiarity with the land are a true invitation to share the world she loves with the viewer.
 

SUMMER 2010
Betty Hay and Keoki traveled to Turkey, the Greek Isles and Athens with friends.

A wonderful trip of hiking and exploring. Many inspirational compositions are just waiting to be painted! Stay tuned...

Betty Hay was one of 25 invited artists taking part in the islands, Hawaii Plein Air Painters. A week of painting on location on Maui. Betty Hay will be painting at the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua from noon to 3pm. Betty Hay Freeland was proud to receive two awards on opening night.

The Irvine Museum Award of Excellence was received for "Take Home Maui." The Maui Giclee 2006 Choice Award was received for "Plantation Course, Kapalua".
