THE PROMISE OF LIGHT, KAUAI

"Painted in Kokee State Park, Kauai, at the Kalalau Lookout. This view is looking over the edge of the left side of the lookout. The lookout can be filed with moving clouds, and suddenly the sun will break through and take your breath away. I love these Ohia'Lehua trees, which adapt themselves to the elevation. They also do fine, living on the edge.
The red blossoms provide food for the Hawaiian honey creeper, with crimson body and black wings and tail.
Hawaiians believe that picking a lehua
blossom will bring the rain."
