UA KEA WAIKAMOI -- SOLD

"The white mist of Waikamoi creates the atmosphere in Waikamoi Preserve, a Native Hawaiian Forest, on the slopes of Haleakala Crater. The large trees in the mist are Koa (Acacia Koa). They are the largest trees in the native forest, and a prized hardwood in Hawaii.

In Waikamoi, they have lichens growing on them which attach themselves to the bark and draw water for the trees. The foreground plants are Ohelo, and 'A'al'ii, native Hawaiian shrubs, whose leaves and flowers are wonderful shades of red. It is an enchanting hike through this preserve. The forest is filled with the songs of native birds."
