UKUMEHAME VALLEY, MAUI

"Ukumehame Valley is part of the West Maui Mountains. This is the view from the highway as you drive to and from Lahaina. This has always been a favorite plein air site. i always have to slow down and see what the light is doing in the valley. On this day, I worked with a brush capturing the light on various ridges, and enjoying the rich color throughout the shadows. Development is beginning in this valley signaling upcoming changes."
